Rules:
1. Signups are limited. Signups will be first come, first serve.
2. We can only have the designated attendees training with their dogs.
3. One dog per handler per group.
4. Other handlers may come and AUDIT ONLY – NO DOGS!
5. Youth handlers preparing for a test with a dog must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times (excludes Team Elevate programs).
6. Birds purchased MUST be picked up at the beginning of the day…if you are purchasing more than one species, bring enough crates/bags to accommodate. NO EXCEPTIONS!
7. Birds this spring are limited. We will not have extra quantities available.
Schedule:
- 7 am NEW TO NAVHDA Group led by Jake and Sara Heesacker
- This group is designed for those new to NAVHDA. These sessions will cover training progressions, answer questions and help new handlers (NA and UT) get oriented and welcomed to the organization.
- if you are selecting this group we recommend getting no birds or 1 chukar.
- 7 am – 12 pm Natural Ability, Utility and Invitational Handlers will be broken into mixed groups and given a designated starting place and rotation plan. It is the responsibility of the group to keep track of time, work efficiently and move to their next station to allow the other groups to work as well.
- 12-1 pm LUNCH BREAK
- 1pm- Mini-clinic hosted by Jake and Sara Heesacker
- Each clinics topic will be shared during the morning huddle of the training day
- 1pm– Grounds opened up for free training at this time. This is for members who registered for the morning session. Please do not simply show up at this time to work your dog.
Other Information
Be prepared for any kind of weather, especially at this time of year. Bring all the gear needed to keep you and your dog comfortable in any conditions. Bring all necessary dog training supplies: Crate, Training collars, Leash, Water, Pick up Bags, etc.
All handlers must be RMC and NAVHDA International current members. Hunters orange must be worn in all live fire fields. Only designated gunners are permitted to shoot live ammo in the upland fields. No exceptions.
Please bring a cash or check (payable to: Rocky Mountain Chapter NAVHDA) to pay for the event.
